Recycling in Marshall County

Plymouth’s curbside recycling program has been contracted to Republic Waste, which supply a 96 gallon trash bin and a 96 gallon recycling bin.  (The recycling bin has a different color lid.) Recycling items accepted are aluminum cans & foil, metal cans, glass bottles and jars, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and containers, and mixed paper with the exception of corrugated cardboard. In addition to these services, Plymouth also provides collection programs for yard waste, large item collection (in the spring), and leaf collection (in the fall). Plymouth residents may contact the Street Department at (574) 936-2017 for more information.

LaPaz has embarked on an innovative program that keeps down the cost of trash removal service, while increasing recycling participation and conserving natural resources at the same time. LaPaz residents are provided a green 18 gallon bin for recycling. Recyclables are collected each week and there is no limit on the amount of recyclables that may be set out for collection. Residents are limited to 96 gallons of trash each week. Residents with more than 96 gallons of trash must purchase a tag to be placed on each additional bag. Because larger volumes of trash cost more to collect, transport, and dispose of, this program helps to control overall costs and is more equitable for waste conservative households. LaPaz residents may contact the Clerk’s Office at (574) 784-3723 for more information.

Argos, Bourbon, Bremen & Culver:
These communities have a contract with a private waste hauler for trash and recycling services. Residents may contact their respective Clerk’s Offices for more information.

Unincorporated Marshall County:
